Is this company legit?

Party of Gold is a women-owned business, registered in the State of Massachusetts. We have a stellar reputation and provide references upon request. We were recently featured in November on Chronicle. The clip can be seen on our Website. You can also view an article written by a reporter attending one of our parties on the front page of The Salem Evening News.

Why did you change your name?

Part of the prior name has been filed for a trademark and we wanted to maintain our own identity.

Is this a multi-level marketing idea?

This is in no way a multi-level marketing scam! We are an independent business, with no affiliation to any other organization. Party of Gold is a registered company, in good standing with the Better Business Bureau.

As a gold party hostess do I make any money?

Yes, You make 10% for the total amount of gold that is purchased. You make 5% for the total amount of silver that is purchased.

Is there a minimum as to how many people have to be at a gold party?

In order for a hostess to make 10% on a party for the gold or 5% for the silver, there must be 3 or more guests. However, we will do individual meetings with people if desired. Obviously, the more people at a party, the more money the hostess makes!

Do you do Fundraisers?

Yes. We pay 15% to fundraisers for all the gold sold and 10% for all the silver sold. Some ask for a % of donation from the guest as well. One earned as much as 30%! There is no cost to set up for a Gold Event. We require only a table, chair, good lighting and an outlet. The advertising and promotion is left up to you. It is a great way to earn quick, fun and easy money for your association.

How is the gold tested?

Gold is tested and weighed in front of you with the industry's best equipment, by a trained Party of Gold Specialist.

"I am not sure I want to sell my gold jewelry." What if I just want to find out what it's worth?

There is no pressure to sell your items! We explain the process to you while a Party of Gold representative prices out your gold, and you can decide if you want to sell. No pressure!

Will I be paid out a fair price? How do I know I am not getting ripped off?

Party of Gold pays at least at and more than often quite a bit above what you would get at a jewelry store/pawn shop/internet site. You will be pleasantly surprised what you tired and worn jewelry is worth!

How do you base your payout on the gold?

The price you see in the papers and on the Internet is the Price of Gold for 24k for a Troy Ounce. Troy Ounces, in the precious metal world weigh a lot more than what we are familiar with. We take the market rate of Gold when we leave for your party as it changes second to second, and we use that as the basis of the calculation we use to come to what we offer for your gold.

How do you pay, in Grams or Pennyweight?

We pay out in grams. Most jewelers pay in Pennyweight (dwt) There are more pennyweights per gram so it sounds better but the payout should result to about the same. We would be happy to do the conversion for you as well.

Do you take out Stones?

We will take out stones if they are on prongs. Although we try to be as cautious as possible we are not jewelers so there is a chance of scratching or chipping the stone. We have tools you can use if you would like to take them out yourself. We buy items with stones but do not offer more.

What happens to the Jewelry after you buy it?

It will get recycled.

I don’t want to have a party but would like to sell my gold jewelry, can I come to one of your parties?

No. We can arrange to meet you individually but we cannot bring a stranger into one of our Host’s parties.

Do you buy Silver?

Yes, we purchase sterling silver jewelry as well as other sterling items like candlesticks, platters, flatware etc. Please see our sister site www.partyofsilver.com for more details.

Do you pay in Cash for Gold, Silver, etc?

No. It is too dangerous for us to carry cash to the parties. We also do not know how much we will need for the party in advance. The checks are business checks and we can provide multiple references.

Is there a particular day or evening which works better to host a gold party?

It will depend on your group of friends and their schedules to determine the appropriate night or day. There is no time that works necessarily better than others.

What are the benefits of working with Party of Gold?

Your gold is tested and weighed while you wait, in a safe and convenient environment. In this day and age, we have reason to be cautious. Hosting or attending a Party of Gold event is a great way to conduct business in the safety of a friend’s home.
